Shortage of specialists: Instinct is not really an HR strategy
Study 2012: ‘Skilled workers: Enough specialists?’ illustrates the result of a survey completed in autumn 2012, showing that companies driven by skilled workers have a lot to catch up. After all, a shortage of skilled labour is no longer just a buzzword.
Although HR departments are aware of this, it is hardly reflected in the HR strategy; HR measures are usually event-driven and not strategic. The problem is that the overall economic and demographic development makes qualified, specialised personnel a resource that is both critical to success and becoming increasingly scarce.
